gold coast
gold coast is definitely one of the greatest place on earth. the weather the beaches, the bikini babes. i really wish one day i can go back there with someone i love and just enjoy ourselves. on the first day i woke up at 4+ to go catch the sun rise but to my surprise, it was a bit disappointing. well of cos it is much much more beautiful than sg one but i was expecting those really really big sun rising through the sky and lighting up the entire horizon. but it was also quite nice la onli too bad i was catching it alone...
surf
upon seeing the waves in gold coast, i told my self, i gotta get a surf board!!! so i bought myself a real cheap body surf board for around 16bucks and off i went. i once body surfed in sun way lagoon on artificial waves. it was so fun cos the wave will push you from one end to the other end of the pool. this time, it's for real. the waves was really huge and it was really difficult to try to get to the deeper side of the sea. every time i took one step forward,, i fell two steps back. when i eventually reached quite far, i was dead tired. from my sun way lagoon experience, i remember you have to start paddling real hard when the waves is about to reach you and if you succeeded, it will carry you and push you all the way. so there i was paddling like crazy waiting for the gigantic waves to push me through. but each time, i only succeeded in letting it swallow me. i really don't know how those pro do it man and now i really respect them. i felt so useless against the strong waves and they the pros actually can control them. nvm, in the end i had fun too just hope one day i can come back again and take some lessons.
daniel?
the place when we stayed was sorta like a chalet cum condo. they have tennis court, small swimming pool, small spa, table tennis room and sauna. so we borrowed rackets from the receptionist and i was suppose to teach ky how to play. i was practicing my serve alone on the carpet tennis court when an ang mo, with piercing on his nose approached and asked if i mind him joining me for a hit around session. of cos those that know me well will know the answer in my mind is "bring it on you fucking punk, juan louis safin is gonna kill you!!" by the way the rackets and balls we were using was GREAT. the part when u place your hands looks like it will fall off anytime and some of the balls even have holes in them. sometime things in life can change really fast you know, his first forehand return already let me know that "oh shit, he is gonna kill me!!" i dono how the hell can he generate so much top spin on his forehand and backhand without sacrificing the pace. almost all of his balls come at me with plenty of top spin and really fast and yet, he seems to be doing them effortlessly . for the first 10+ minutes or so, he was like a dog trainer and i was his dog. i was running around like an idiot trying to return his balls. however, i slowly found my rhythm and the "sting" in his shots was slowly disappearing although it was actually the same shots but just that i've gotten used to it. i was now returning his missiles with my own tiny whiny amount of top spin and was actually able to stay in a couple of rallies with him. another thing i must let the whole world know is his 'volleys'. i think i didn't succeed in making a single passing shot against him. every time i saw him standing at the net i will hit the damn balls with all my might and my tennis kakis can testify that although i don't have a rafael nadal fore/backhand, my fore/backhand ain't that weak either. but what happen? he simply stretches out his rackets and the balls dropped slightly in front of the net. once again, he makes them looked easy. in the end i asked him how long has he been playing and he told me "nahhh i haven't been playing COM for awhile" my face turned pale and he asked me do i play com and i told him no i just started playing 1 year+ ago and usually play for fun. although i feel like telling him yea i play COMputer a lot. he reckon i was quite good for someone who only play for fun, well hopefully he isn't just being polite. i now truly understand that you have to play with someone good to become good yourself and right now my goals is to have Daniel's volleys and the kind of 'stings' he put into his shots. by the way, i don't know his name ah. i forgot to ask and his face give me a feeling his name is daniel so i called him daniel.
dreamworld
dreamworld was quite fun but at $58 it was too expensive. only a few rides was fun so for those that plans to go gold coast in the future, i suggest you spent that $58 on something else.
