Polictically oblivion
Politic World
was watching "60 minutes the great debate" yesterday. it was a debate between the australia prime minister John Howard and the opposition leader Mark Latham. There was a panel of people which I believe are political press and politics analysis shooting questions at them. There was also audiences with a device on their hand and whenever they approved of what was said, they will press the approve button and vice versa. They was a total of 5 levels for each direction so viewers will get to see something like a wave going up and down as the leaders were speaking. They discussed issues from national security to health care to education etc. I am not very sure about the detail but I believe John Howard once said publicly he won’t increase tax or something like that but in the end, he did. So one of the panels asked him why the Australians should trust him again. That for me is the highlight of the show, seeing how both leaders trying to cover up their asses. After watching the show, I wondered will we ever see something like that in Singapore? The main differences between here and Singapore for me, is not really the weather or what but the way people see politics. I sorta have the feeling that we, Singaporeans are like little children compared to people here. Why? Because know nothing and everything is decided by our government. The people here respect and not fear their government and I’m not sure if the same could be said about us. On one occasion while John Howard was doing his rally, a man walked up to him and show him a bag of rotten cheese. He said to John Howard that he and his party are like rotten cheese that must be throw away. Imagine how may years you will get if you do that to Lee Hsien Loong? You can’t eat gums, sun bathing topless is prohibited, no nudity and coarse language allowed on tv, drawing graffiti will earn you canning and that’s your democratic government. To me, our government is somewhere between communism and capitalism. I don’t know man, we have to address them with a mister all the time, they control the media completely, they virtually have no opposition and we do whatever they say, is that healthy?
No no, I am not trying to start a revolution and I think credits have to go to them for making spore the way she is today. However, I can’t help but wonder how Lee Hsien Loong will look if he has to cover his ass on tv and waking up everyday flipping through newspaper that questions the government decisions.
Bottom line is I think they should be more freedom allowed. They want us to be creative but how can we ever be if we are constantly being told what to do instead of thinking on our own.

Can someone please stop Roger Federrer? Thank you
